Poem in memory of Beth McCrae McIntyre

Created by Maureen 3 years ago

In memory of Beth McCrae McIntyre

How to say goodbye
Without a reassuring kiss,
Or a gentle hug
For all the memories
Of both your lives
Maureen and Lorraine
You had to go online
As you do for business
But it is good to communicate
With family and friends
As cruel Covid
Rips apart all on its path.

Maureen, you kindly chose
Me as a friend,
Your courage melting in tears,
You niece Jamie
And nephew Alexander
Brought up with motherly love
And Beth’s wise and gentle support
Always mixed with fun.

We shall miss forever
That unique battered rose
Left on the twigs of winter.

But oh look, Beth
Who loved that mountain
Behind Loch Broom
Made it glitter today
With the snow full of sunshine
For you all left behind.
Her smile is there
The twinkle in her eyes
There too forever.
